Eritrea: Results of Grade 8 National Exam Announced

The results of Grade 8 national exam has been found satisfactory with an 82.4% of students getting passing marks, according to Mr. Kilfe Mekonnen, head of the National Examination Department.

He said that over 41,000 students, of whom 18,000 are females, members of the Defense Force and Eritrean students in Saudi Arabia participated in the exam that was given in four subjects, namely English, math, social sciences and natural science.

Mr. Kifle further indicated that members of the Defense Force scored outstanding marks and that satisfactory ones were registered in the English exam while poor result in math. He added that 295 of the total scored above 90% as compared to last year's which stood at only 46.
