Eritrea: High-Level Sudanese Delegation Holds Talks With Senior PFDJ Officials And East Sudan Front Leadership

Asmara — A high-level Sudanese delegation headed by Dr. Mustafa Osman Ismail, Presidential Advisor, today held talks here with senior PFDJ officials and the East Sudan Front Leadership on preparations made to welcome the leadership of the Front in Khartoum. The Sudanese official gave briefings on the preparations at public and official level.

In the meeting, Mr. Yemane Gebreab, Head of Political Affairs at the PFDJ, headed the Eritrean side and it was assessed by both sides that the peace agreement reached and the protocols based on it are being effectively implemented.

In the meeting held with the East Sudan Front Leadership, a team headed by the Chairman of the Front, Mr. Mussa Mohammed Ahmed, took part.

Mr. Yemane Gebreab told reporters following the meeting that the Eritrean-Sudanese relations is in good state and that the Asmara Peace Agreement is being implemented as scheduled.

Dr. Mustafa Osman Ismail on his part commended the Eritrea's constructive and positive role in promoting peace in the Sudan.

In line with the Agreement signed in Asmara on 14 October 2006, the East Sudan Front Leadership would take oath, upon arrival in Khartoum next Monday, in the presence of President Omar Hassan Al-Beshir.
