Efforts are being stepped up to ease potable water supply problems in Hagaz sub-zone, according to Mr. Idris Abdalla, head of economic development desk in the sub-zone.

He said that a water reservoir with a capacity of holding 17,000 cubic meters of water has been constructed and 9 wells dug through the coordinated endeavors of the administration and the general public.

Mr. Idris went on to say that the newly constructed Fana potable water supply project which was implemented through the cooperation of the Anseba regional administration and partners is now rendering services, and that the construction of Anchinaq water supply project is nearing completion.

In a related report, in line with the on-going soil and water conservation activities, over 146 km-long terraces and 12,000 cubic meters of embankments have bee put in place, in addition to the construction of about 3,000 meter-long water diversion scheme through popular campaign.
