Jinja — Uganda has invited investors interested in its emerging oil industry as news of new discoveries continues to pour in.

Uganda's President Yoweri Museveni while presiding over the laying of the foundation for the 250MW Bujagali power station with His Highness the Aga Khan said: "I am told there are a lot of rich people here," a beaming Museveni said. "For those of you here who might not have known yet, Uganda has discovered oil and natural gas and our oil sector is opening up significant opportunities."

This was in direct reference to Aga Khan's plans to set up an airline operating out of Uganda (it should be flying before end of the year), Museveni revealed that by 2009, one of the products will be aviation fuel.
