Asmara

Five Darfur opposition organizations who earlier formed a united front in Asmara last month following an invitation by Eritrea and at the initiative of Libya and Chad have now decided to coordinate their fighting forces. The meetings in Asmara lasted for more than one month and half, and concluded with the setting up of a "United Front for Liberation and Development."

Accordingly, the Leadership Council of these organizations would move to Darfur and undertake the task of coordinating their fighting forces, a spokesman of the organizations told journalists.

It is to be recalled that the organizations which formed the united front called on other opposition groups to emulate the same move and extend support.
