Kampala — FANS are scrambling to purchase tickets to the crunch African Nations Cup qualifier between Uganda and Niger. The Cranes need victory by three clear goals in the September 8 showdown to guarantee qualification for the biennial showpiece. Tickets are on sale in Simba Telecom and MTN outlets.

Simba Telecom General Manager Peter Kakaire told Daily Monitor that yesterday (Tuesday) was the biggest day in their sales and predicted that the tickets might be finished in the next couple of days.

"The fans are eager this time round. People are buying for friends and families and we are happy that the response is superb. At the level at which the tickets are being bought, I can assure you that they will be finished in the next couple of days," Kakaire said.

The Fufa Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Charles Masembe told Daily Monitor no extra tickets will be put on sale if the ones on sale get finished.

"We printed only 40,000 tickets and we believe that is what the stadium can accommodate. "We don't want to give trouble to the fans who will turn up for the game, so the earlier the better. Otherwise I am impressed with the returns," Masembe said.
