Zimbabwe: President Congratulates Turkish PM, Swiss Leader

Harare — President Mugabe has sent congratulatory messages to Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan following his recent re-election and Swiss President Micheline Calmy-Rey on Switzerland's National Day.

In the message to Mr Erdogan, President Mugabe said his re-election was a demonstration of the confidence and trust the people of Turkey had in his leadership. "The Government and people of the Republic of Zimbabwe join me in congratulating you upon your re-election in the just concluded elections in your country. As you assume your duties with a fresh mandate, I look forward to working closely with you in strengthening the bilateral ties between our countries.
