More than 80 artists from three continents are expected to take part in the 5th edition of the Monastir International Plastic Arts Festival which will take place from September 1 to 11, 2007.

The festival which will gather artists from the USA, Brazil, Spain, France, Russia, Germany, Italy, Serbia, Egypt, Libya, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Senegal and of course Tunisia, is organized by the Monastir Fine Arts Association.

Apart from the traditional art workshops and painting exhibits, the festival will also feature musical evenings, dance and folklore spectacles.

Excursions to some of Tunisia 's finest historical monuments in Carthage, Sidi Bou Said, Hammamet and Mahdia have also been scheduled for participants.

Major international artists such as Esperanza Romero ( Spain ), Massimo Pompei ( Italy ) and Mohamed Al Nasiri ( Iraq ) are expected to take part.
