Kampala — Dream of becoming a big artiste both on the local and international scene? Suudi Lukwago can help.

The US-based Ugandan music promoter and proprietor of Suudi International arrived in Uganda to attend his protégé Henry Tigan's album launch and to also search for talented up-and-coming artistes "with remarkably rare talent."

But he said he only willing to help promote "an artiste with remarkably rare talent."

"I don't want someone who sings like any of the local stars, I need an up-and-coming artiste with rare talent," he said, "An artiste who will in future represent Uganda in a good way, just like Henry Tigan, his style is far different from any one else's in this country."

So, behold all of you musicians who believe you have what it takes but are hindered by financial constraints, Suudi is here for another two weeks looking for you.

He holds a bachelors degree in management and production from Berkley Music School in Boston.

"I worked with SJA Studios in Boston as an engineer and I met several artistes who greatly inspired me to channel my efforts towards becoming an international music promoter," he said, "The first international artiste I met was Redman and he really inspired me to take on artiste booking courses."

Suudi Entertainment International deals in booking, managing and promoting musicians on an international level as well as organising concerts. The company currently manages a number of artistes including US-based Jamaican star Mighty Mystique and reggae-tone star Jay Ecano. Actually, Suudi coordinated the Marlon Asher visit to Uganda for Bebe Cool's concert which is on tonight.

And he said he is using a unique technique to get hold of those artistes with great talent.

He said he several radio music directors on different radio stations countrywide would send him songs by potential artistes from which he will choose the best musicians to join his company.
