Asmara — A number of participants of the Somali Congress for Liberation and Reconstitution are arriving in Asmara to attend the congress, according to the Preparatory Committee. The congress is scheduled to open next Thursday, 6 September 2007.
The participants are from various social groups of the Somali society. The Committee indicated that the necessary logistic and technical arrangements have already been finalized.
Stating that the congress is aimed at liberating Somalia from the Ethiopian open invasion and to ensure the country's reconstitution, the Committee explained that Somalis around the world are eagerly awaiting the outcome of the congress.
The Committee told a press conference yesterday evening that it is expected to adopt a political program and strategy that would serve Somalia's national interests, as well as the setting up of a coalition which represents the Somali people.
