Cape Town — Members of the University of Cape Town health sciences faculty took their row with Western Cape's health department over budget cuts to Parliament yesterday, telling MPs that the cuts threatened their ability to perform transplants and train new doctors and nurses.
Doctors at Groote Schuur sounded the alarm earlier this year on the cash-strapped Western Cape health department's plans to cut 90 beds at Groote Schuur and Tygerberg hospitals as it tried to improve services to the poor.
