Uganda: Water Supply to Parts of City Disrupted

Kampala — Water  supply to parts of Kampala and Wakiso districts has been cut off after the main transmission line burst. According to Dr. William Muhairwe, the managing director of the National Water and Sewerage Corporation, the pipe burst near the Electoral Commission offices on Jinja Road on Tuesday.

The public relations officer, Miriam Kadaga, said the water supply line had to be shut down to allow engineers repair the damaged part. The affected areas include Naguru, Ntinda, Nakawa, Bukoto, Kyebando, Kiwatule, Naalya, Namugongo, Kyaliwajjala, Kyanja, Kulambiro, Mpererwe and Kanyanya.
