Niger: Niger State National Domestic Trade Fair Comes With a New Face

The 5th Niger State National Domestic Trade Fair organized by The Niger State Ministry of Commerce, Industry, Tourism and Cooperatives in conjunction with The Niger Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mine and Agriculture (NCCIM) ended on a clean state.

The National Domestic Trade Fair is package as a platform to attract, encourage and support private investors to come and take the advantages of the condusive atmosphere of peace and abundant investment potentials in Niger State. The Theme "Building the National economy through Public and Private Partnership" popularly referred to as "PPP" is a step to reposition the State into the three most developed States in the Nation.

The State potentials that was exhibited at the 5th National Trade Fair includes the diverse mineral resources, the largest agricultural farm land in the Nation, the craft of the people and the tourists centers not forgetting the strategic location of the State.

The diverse mineral resources of the State are Gold, Iron, Clay, Silica, Kainite and Marble, Feldspar, Lead, Columbine and Tantalite are available for potentials industrialist. Agriculture indeed forms the bedrock of the economic life of the people specialized in cash crops farming like Cassava, Tomato, Yam, Rice etc.

The Power State of the Nation has the largest landmarks in Nigeria. The tourist potentials include Zuma Rock located along Abuja - Kaduna express road with a human face look inform of engraving representing the eye socket, the nose and the mouth on the side of the rock that face Abuja road. Other tourist centers like the Bida Glass work in Masaga village in Bida, the Gurara water falls located along Minna -- Suleja road to mention a few.

Culturally rich in Crafts souvenirs in form of Pots, Tea sets, flower vases etc. The DR. Ladi Kwali Pottery (a native potters) Center at Suleja town established in 1951 by late Michael Carder a British partner of international repute, also the Tatiko Craft Center located in Paikoro local government area of the State produces Pot jars, local buckets, Safes, Cooking pots.
