Asmara — An Eritrean researcher exposed the TPLF regime's Premier for claiming, in an interview with Time magazine, that the war with Eritrea broke out without his wish and that he was forced to get involved because the majority decided to do so. The researcher underlined that Meles's claim is a futile attempt to escape accountability on the eve of his imminent downfall.
The researcher went on to stress that Meles could by no means escape accountability as he is the very person who not only gave war directives, which resulted in colossal destruction to life and property, but also stirred feelings of hatred between the peoples of Eritrea and Ethiopia through unmatched cruelty and repeated lies.
Also in a reply he gave to the question of whether US troops and war planes were involved in the war in Somalia, Meles said, "Now that time has elapsed, I will reveal the truth: yes, they did; the US Administration participated in the war both in terms of weapons and personnel," the same researcher disclosed amid surprise. In this regard, the researcher elaborated that such pronouncements on the part of the TPLF Premier fully attests to his well-known habitual resort to deliberate lies.
It is to be noted that Meles has often been referred to by differ parties as a person who repeatedly engages in shameful lies.
