Accra — After weeks of a high time treat, sound football lessons from the MTN soccer academy, two of the 14 team mates exited the house in the first eviction in a ceremony amid tension, anxiety and sorrow last Sunday at the Academy in Accra.
And to begin the long journey for the ultimate scheduled in November, it was Jonas Gyasi Baffoe and Oscar Annor who took the early shower in the maiden eviction show.
The two sobbed and wept uncontrollably as though they were possessed infecting the other mates with their sordid state.
Their sad state worsoned when their compatriots bid them farewell in front of a packed to capacity park at their Ridge academy house.
Prior to the well organized eviction ceremony, the Blue team mauled their Yellow counterparts with an emphatic 4-0 win in a keenly contested five aside game.
The eviction show will be conducted every Sunday which will be live on Metro TV with one house mate going home in subsequent editions. Interestingly, Collins Akwasi Akowah reclaimed the captainship after one week reign by diminutive Bismark Amponsah.
He remains the only player to have captained the academy for two consecutive weeks and indications are that his quality leadership role will see him travel far in the reality show.
The show was spiced with performances from Kwesey Pee and Sha Sha Marley whose "Mata tui-tui" rendition generated screams from the spectators.
In a post-eviction press conference at the academy yesterday, the evictees who are yet to overcome their shock appeared positive.
"It appears we have hit the end of the road, but we are not out in our careers, there are still more grounds to cover, we have learnt so much and hoping to translate it into play as we go out, Gyasi Baffoe declared sobbing."
"I will be missing the good lessons of coach Ibrahim Sunday, he has imparted so much into us Annor stated."
Coach Sunday presented a ¢1million cheque each to the evictees as his widow's mite and charged them to focus as they step out.
They also took home some products from the Coca Cola Bottling Company Ltd in a Metro TV cars as the other team mates looked on contemplating on who will be the next evictee.
