Angola: Chairperson of Agostinho Neto Foundation Defines Institution's Objectives

Luanda — The Foundation António Agostinho Neto, proclaimed this Friday in Luanda, will keep fighting for the continuation of the work carried out by its patron, adapting it to the changes of time and men, with view to enable the current and future generations to obtain a non-dogmatic knowledge and without bias.

These tasks were mentioned by the chairperson of the Council of Founders, Maria Eugénia Neto, during the proclamation ceremony of the António Agostinho Neto Foundation, the attributed to the country's first president, and attended by the Head of state, José Eduardo dos Santos, and by different individualities.

According to her, the institution will be of public use, to safeguard literary, political, cultural, moral and material assets of its patron, recalling that the memory and work of Agostinho Neto is of national reference, supra-party, and going beyond the country's border.

He added that other Foundation's objectives have to do with the promotion of education, scientific and technological research, and the encouragement of competitive activities for the wellbeing of citizens.

She urged the government, the international community, enterprises, foundations and all Angolan citizens residing in the country and abroad, to support this noble cause aimed at rescuing the historical heritage, through donations, suggestions and documents.
