Eritrea: Djiboutian And Sudanese Diplomats Visited Institutions in Gash-Barka And Anseba Regions

Asmara — Djiboutian and Sudanese diplomats accredited to Eritrea conducted a working visit in different institutions in Gash-Barka and Anseba regions from September 9 to 10.

Djiboutian Ambassador Ahmed Issa and the First Secretary of the Sudanese Embassy, Mr. Abdelkerim Ahmed Yusuf, visited Elaberead Agro-Industry, Hagaz College of Agriculture and Alebu Tomato Paste and Banana Plant. In their tour, they were accompanied by the Minister of Tourism, Ms. Amna Nurhusein, the Commissioner of Sports and Foreign Ministry heads.

At Elaberead Agro-Industry, the diplomats observed efforts to boost milk products and fruits, and thereby familiarize these products with the world market, in addition to irrigation farming being undertaking from 8 micro-dams.

They also received briefings by department heads of Hagaz College of Agriculture on the educational status of the college, as well as the activities of the Wine and Marmalade Factory administered by the college.

Moreover, the diplomats, in the company of the Minister of Trade and Industry, Dr. Gergish Teklemichael, observed the tomato paste and banana factory in Alebu geared to export.

The Djiboutian and Sudanese diplomats expressed admiration for the efforts Eritrea is exerted to achieve food security and develop the agro-industry sector.
