The Eritrean Ambassador to Australia and New Zealand, Dr. Andeab Gebremeskel, said that there exists conducive and encouraging grounds for investment in Eritrea.

He made the statement at a meeting with the Australian Minister of Trade, Mr. Warren Tras, on September 15.

Indicating the existence of substantial investment opportunities in Eritrea, Dr. Andeab called on Australian investors to avail themselves of the prevailing peace and stability, as well as resources and investment opportunities in Eritrea.

Mr. Warren Tran on his part recalled that he had witnessed the endeavors and commitment of the people and Government of Eritrea in development programs during his visit to the country. He stated that he would strive to enable Australian owners of capital to promote trade relations with Eritrea.

Meanwhile, the Ambassador Andeab held talks with the spokesman of the Australian Parliament, Mr. David Hawker, on the prevailing situation in the Horn of Africa and Eritrea's role in promoting peace.

In the meeting, the Ambassador expressed the desire of the people and Government of Eritrea to promote lasting peace in the Sudan and Somalia. He also underlined that the vigorous efforts the people and Government of Eritrea are exerting emanates from such a stance.
