Lagos — Dana Industries Limited has displayed its commitment to societal development by donating some of its products to the Stella Obasanjo orphanage home in Abeokuta. The items were received on-behalf of the orphanage home by Ogun State Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Welfare, Ms. Jokotade Odunuga.

Receiving the items which included bags of Dana Rice, cartoons of Sun Yum Noodles, cartoons of Aqua Dana table water as well as some Dana Plastics, Odunuga was full of appreciation to the management of Dana Group for picking Stella Obasanjo orphanage for the kind gesture.

She said "the government of Ogun State is really very happy with this kind gesture of Dana Industries Limited. This is a clear indication of the company's desire to make life more meaningful for the less privileged in the society. Your show of love for these children through your donations would go a long way to meeting the basic nutritional needs of the children for a long while. We hope that today's event would encourage other corporate organizations to donate to the good course of the less fortunate in the society.

Responding, Mr. Harish Asnani, marketing manager, Dana Industries Limited who presented the items to the Commissioner on behalf of Dana Group said "going round the orphanage and seeing these lovely children radiate so much warmth and joy, makes me realise that no matter what we give today, there is the need for everyone in the society to remember these ones who are not fortunate enough amongst us."

Asnani said "Dana group is committed to the welfare of the less privileged in the society that is why we are giving back to the community where we do business. Our business community in this sense is Nigeria and Ogun State is one of the states which we intend to regularly show our appreciation to Nigerians by donating to courses like the Stella Obasanjo orphanage home."

While Odunuga conducted the Dana delegation round the building, Mr. Kayode Samuel, the state commissioner for information also expressed joy at the gesture of Dana Industries Limited. Samuel said "the Governor Gbenga Daniel is truly committed to every single citizen of the state whether privileged or less fortunate. That is why he has made it a point of duty to make sure the children here are given the best care. This is evident in the confidence these children display when they see visitors. You can see that though biological parent-hood is missing, the State government makes efforts to fill that void in the best way possible."

Apart from the items donated, Dana Industries Limited also fed the children with prepared Sun Yum Noodles from its mobile kitchen.
