Namibia: Education Ministry Signs Technical Agreement

20 September 2007

Windhoek — The Ministry of Education last week signed a Technical Assistance Agreement with Serving In Mission (SIM), a non-profit UK registered organisation, formerly known as the Africa Evangelical Fellowship, to recruit foreign volunteer teachers for Namibian schools to alleviate the shortage of qualified teachers in all subject areas, whenever necessary.

The Ministry shall, subject to the Public Service Commission's approval, appoint recruited foreign teachers on a two-year renewable contract. SIM will recruit qualified foreign teachers through its overseas networks in Europe, Australia and the United States of America, based on the needs of the Ministry.
