Harare — The Ministry of Information and Publicity has instituted investigations into a possible scam involving some of its staff and service providers at the just ended Mzee Bira held in Beitbridge last Friday.
In a statement, the permanent secretary in the ministry, Cde George Charamba, disclosed that police and officials from the anti-corruption department were conducting a probe into the suspected scam. "Irregularities which raised the suspicion were noted in respect of management of payments to service providers, as well as administration of entry tickets.
"The ministry will keep the public updated on this investigation which has already seen one suspect appearing in court," Cde Charamba said.
