Cameroon: Onobiono Says Supreme Court is Gullible

The Centre Provincial President of the CPDM party campaign committee, James Onobiono, has said party opponents influenced the Supreme Court in its decision to cancel elections in the Nyong and Kele Division.

Onobiono was speaking on Sunday, September 16, in the CPDM party house in Eseka, Nyong and Kele, at the launching of CPDM campaigns for re-runs scheduled for September 30.

According to Onobiono, the victory the CPDM recorded at the July 22 elections in Nyong and Kele Division was void of duplicity or chicanery.

He noted that the Supreme Court was simply under pressure from opponents to cancel elections and schedule a re-run. He, however, noted that accepting the verdict of the court didn't mean renouncing victory.

Onobiono openly declared that the CPDM victory of July 22 was clean and concise. He expressed optimism that he, together, with his team is to bounce back.He exhorted the people of Eseka not to acquiesce to messages from opponents whom he said would offer nothing.

He was categorical that only CPDM can improve their living conditions and all they need to do is come out massively to vote.Onobiono rubbished the practice of using national heroes as instruments of propaganda citing Reuben Um Nyobe, whom Kodock's UPC is abusing.

He said Um Nyobe is a national hero and not a UPC hero. Onobiono, therefore, called on Eseka natives to shun people who bother them with fatuous messages and to unanimously vote for CPDM which, for him, would ensure development and progress.

Filled with confidence, Onobiono declared an open invitation to celebrate the CPDM victory which, according to him, would be confirmed on September 30."We don't want to share this Nyong and Kelle with whosoever," he stated.
