Kampala — AFTER all the questions about why Miss Uganda 2007/8, Monica Kasyate, was never presented with her prize car, the organisers have responded with the real thing.
But unlike some previous pageant winners who have had to make do with decrepit cars, including one Miss MUBS's rickety Toyota Corolla II borrowed from Kireka for the paparazzis' sake, Kasyate will ride in splendour!
Hers is limited sports edition diamond white Toyota RAV4 long chasis (UAJ 609L), worth well over sh20m! the car has a customised pink and white dashboard, ivory chrome steering wheel, tinted windows, a provision for a DVD player in case she wanted to install one, sunroof, spot rims and CD player.
Unfortunately, Kasyate will only "own" the car for as long as she wears the crown because it belongs to the Miss Uganda institution.
And as for the delay, Miss Uganda officials say the prize car could not be presented to the 21-year-old beauty earlier because she was taking driving lessons. Still, a free chauffeur is available should Kasyate require one.
