The Central Council of the Alliance for the Re-liberation of Somalia has elected an Executive Committee and 11 departments to make up the Secretariat.

The First Deputy Chairman of the Executive Committee, Dr. Zekaria Ahmed Abdi, told journalists that the departments of the Secretariat are: Foreign Affairs, Internal Affairs, Defense, Finance, Information, Health, Education, Trade and Planning, Human Rights, Justice, and Social Affairs. A chairman and two deputy chairmen have also been elected for each department, the report added.

Regarding the internal situation in Somalia, Dr. Zekaria pointed out that in recent action against the invading forces of the Meles regime, Somali fighters have captured two Ethiopian colonels and inflicted heavy damage to Ethiopian armed vehicles.

Indicating that in the wake of the Somali Congress for Liberation and Reconstitution in Asmara, many Somali youths continue to join the forces of liberation, Dr. Zekaria explained. He further stated that the Ethiopian regime's renewed conspiracy to foment division among the Somali population has failed.
