Monrovia — The UNDP Small Arms Control Program over the weekend dedicated its administrative building in Zuluyee Town, in Nimba County.

According to UNDP Small Arms Control, Program Officer, Robert Dorliae, the building was constructed after UNDP Small Arms declared Bain-Garr Clan arms free.

The seven bedrooms and a conference room were constructed few months ago with the understanding that citizens would collect the remaining arms in the district.

The program started early 2006 with the collections of remaining arms in Ganta city, Zuluyee, Dangamon Town as well as other surrounding towns and villages in the district.

Speaking to a team of journalists, the program officer Robert Dorliae urged politicians to get involved with the program.

"Remember, no development can go on where there are arms all around you", he added.

He further told the INQUIRER that UNDP Small Arms is operating in Grand Gedeh, Nimba, Lofa, River Gees, and Maryland County with the objective of declaring Liberia arms free.

"350 members are collecting the remaining weapons left over in these counties," he added.

Nimba County Superintendent Robert Kamei thanks the UNDP Small Arms for the construction of the building.

He further appealed to citizens of the county to fully cooperate with the UNDP Small Arms by reporting all the remaining arms.
