Nigeria: Health - Court Grants Bamaiyi 14 Days to Travel to Dubai

Abuja — An Ikeja high court yesterday granted detained Gen. Ishaya Bamaiyi a 14-day excuse to travel to Dubai for medical check-up. Bamaiyi, with four others, is standing trial for the alleged attempt to murder Alex Ibru, the publisher of the Guardian newspapers.

Justice Joseph Oyewole who granted the application, however said that Bamaiyi's trip should be at the expense of the accused. Oyewole ordered that the accused should be accompanied to Dubai by officials of the SSS, who should be sponsored by the state.
