Massawa

The Administrator of Massawa, Ms. Fana Tesfamariam, said that different investors are heading to the Free Economic Trade Zone upon receiving licenses, and that the City Administration is carrying out the necessary preparations to put in place infrastructure facilities.

In a meeting in which members of government institutions, national unions and workers participated, she indicated that the investors have already set foot in the Free Zone and are making preparations to begin their commercial activities.

Ms. Fana further indicated that people in the vicinity of the Free Economic Trade Zone and parts of the Tiwalet area would move to different new sites in which the required facilities have already been constructed by Musa Ali and the Gedem construction company, as well as the Naval Force.

Noting that the Government is exerting vigorous efforts in all economic spheres, particularly in the tourism sector, to make Massawa the center of the nation's economic hub, the City Administrator pointed out that the construction of big hotels in connection with the Free Trade Zone attest to such endeavors.
