Monrovia — Citizens of Grand Bassa County are said to be in high spirits and are anxiously awaiting the official opening of the world's largest steel company after which time it will formally begin its operations in the county.
The citizens who spoke to our reporter over the weekend in Buchanan City said they were all waiting on the day the company will officially begin its operation in the county.
According to them there are lots of opportunities that the company intends to offer including attracting other investors to the county and the creation of more employment opportunities for citizens of the county.
The citizens of Bassa said currently they are in high gear to begin working with the company in executing its operation in the county.
"We are determining to work along with Archlor Mittal Steel in achieving their goals as well as bringing development to Liberia,' the citizens stated.
The citizens who were both old and young people added; that they could cherish the company and hold it close to their hearts because the presence of the company is a blessing for the entire county.
Meanwhile the Superintendent of Grand Bassa County, Madam Julie Pinky Duncan- Cassell has called on the citizens of Bassa to remain patient and wait until the company can begin full operations at which time many of the youths would be employed.
Madam Cassell stated that currently the company was focusing on the recruitment of managers and supervisors.
"Later on when the company begins to fully operate it would employ unskilled laborers and this will be the time when the majority of our citizens would be employed," she stated in a friendly mood.
Superintendent Cassell further disclosed that besides the Mittal Steel operations her citizens are also prepared for the implementation of the Buchanan Road project which would begin shortly.
She stated that her citizens would be fully involved with the entire road project and they are currently ready for the task.
Meanwhile Superintendent Cassell has commanded the management of the Liberia Bank for Development and Investment for extending its facility to the Bassa people.
She said the initiative by the LBDI family indicate that the county is safe for investment operation in the county.
She then called on others Liberians investors to emulate the good examples of the LDBI family.
