Liberia: Prosecution Will Not Hamper Reconciliation Says Pres. Sirleaf of Former Government Officials

Monrovia — President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf says the decision by her government to prosecute former Liberian government officials will in no way hamper the reconciliation process of the country.

The President's comments were in reaction to reports in some quarters that the decision by her government to charge and arraign former Liberian government officials in court for their alleged involvement in corruption would have an adverse effect on the reconciliation process of the nation after years of civil unrest.
