Uganda: Japan Offers $28m for Bujagali Dam

Kampala — THE Japanese government is to offer a $28.63m loan for the construction of the Bujagali Interconnection Project. The project will involve building a transmission line to evacuate power from the 250 megawatt Bujagali hydropower station to Kawanda, Nalubaale, Tororo and Mutundwe.

Japan Bank of International Cooperation is to co-finance the project with the African Development Bank, which has offered $110m.
