Mr. Ali Abdu, from the Ministry of Information, underlined that the TPLF regime's resort to extensively jamming Eritrean media outlets is a futile attempt that would only further aggravate its frustration. He also stressed that such an attempt could not stifle the voice of the truth.

In a statement he gave to ERINA, Mr. Ali pointed out that the regime is engaged in attempts not only to block the broadcasting of Eritrean media outlets but also websites, and that this act represents a vivid manifestation of desperation and utter insolvency.

Moreover, Mr. Ali indicated that the TPLF regime is ordering the dismantling of receiver satellite dishes in different parts of Ethiopia claiming that "these facilities are illegal equipments designed to follow-up broadcasts by the Eritrean media." He went on to say that the regime is deploying spies, who keep an eye on individuals who follow the Eritrean media outlets, and that these spies pass over information to security agencies.

Recalling that in the wake of its failure to confront the just struggle of the Eritrean people in the mid 80s, the Derg regime resorted to similar acts of jamming to no avail. Mr. Ali Abdu underscored that "if attempts to muffle the just voice of the Eritrean people in yesteryears was very difficult, it is futile today," thus underlining the TPLF regime's hollow acts.
