Kampala — THE Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB) has provided hotlines for the public to report examination malpractices to the Police and the board.
The numbers provided by the UNEB Executive Secretary, Matthew Bukenya, in a statement yesterday are: 041-4286637/9, fax number 041-4289397 or 0312-260752 and mobile phones, 0772-429566 and 0772-410878 to 0772-410931.
The Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) is starting on Monday October 15. Primary Leaving Examinations (PLE) will be conducted on November 5 and 6 while the Uganda Advanced Certificate of Examination (UACE) and Uganda Junior Technical (UJTC) will start on November 12.
"UNEB will conduct the examinations as scheduled in all parts of the country, including those areas affected by floods," Bukenya said.
He warned all heads of centres, candidates, teachers and parents against involving themselves in any malpractice.
"Very firm action will be taken against any person who will not heed this warning," he said.
A total of 6,000 scouts have been deployed to keep a watchful eye during PLE, 2,700 for the S4 exams and 1,000 for the S6 exams, said Eva Konde, the UNEB spokesperson.
There are 194,911 candidates for O'Level examinations, 86,630 for A'Level examinations and 444,020 for PLE.
