Windhoek — Rhiana Potgieter, owner of Shadonai Beauty School, emerged on Friday the winner of the Namibian Businesswomen of the Year 2007, while Twapewa Mudjanima, owner of the Pewa Hair and Skin Care Manufactures, was voted the winner of up coming best Young Business Entrepreneur in the Business Owner Award category.
The announcement was made on Friday night during the Namibian Businesswomen of the Year Award in Windhoek. Helene Vosloo of Electricity Control Board took the award in Community and Government Award category while Margaret Bennett was voted the Winner of Private and Corporate Sector Award category. Speaking at the event, General Manager for Marketing and Sales of Telecom Namibia, Amanda Hauuanga, said through education and realising opportunities, a woman's place could be anywhere she chooses it to be.
She said today's life women had greater potential to realise their dreams. Hauuanga said the Namibia Businesswomen of the Year Award, was only one way in which her company could demonstrate its commitment and recognition of the ongoing contribution that women are making to economy. "We at Telecom Namibia are excited about the 2007 finalists and we are proud to be associated with such exceptional women who continue to inspire and encourage other women to strive for excellence as they pursue their career paths.
She said this year's deserving finalists represent a diversity of category Business Owner, Private/Corporate and Community Government.
