The National Union of Eritrean Women Office of the Gash Barka region offered training to 31 midwives on maternity health care and offered them child delivery materials.

Reports indicated that the training was aimed at alleviating mother and child mortality rates, providing medical checkups for pregnant women, controlling anemia, and controlling excessive bleeding before and after delivery.

In the conclusion of the training, head of social services in the Gash Barka region, Mrs. Tsion Ogbamichael reminded the midwives to work harder and step up their work.
