Shi'eb

Different development projects worth 5.7 million Nakfa have been implemented in the Shi'eb sub-zone, Northern Red Sea region, over the past nine months. The projects involve soil and water conservation, boosting agricultural production and ensuring food security.

Reports indicated that water canals and catchments have been constructed through the coordinated efforts of the general public, the Ministry of Agriculture, RODAB Construction Company and the regional Administration.

The projects include the construction of 4,200 meters of catchments in Gedged, 8,800 meters in Mensheb and Tiluk, 1,370 meters in Wekiro and 4,200 meters in Wedilo and Shebah. Moreover, a 150 meter-long water diversion scheme has been constructed in Gedged, in which more than 6,000 people took part.
