Luanda — Head of State, José Eduardo dos Santos, said Angola can produce bio-diesel and ethanol
Angolan head of State, Jose Eduardo dos Santos, Thursday in Luanda said that Angola has conditions to produce bio-diesel and ethanol, thanks to available vast lands and the nature of the country's climate.
"The production of these bio-fuels will enable to contribute for the economic development of several regions in the country, since it is possible to explore the best alternatives in the raw materials existing in each region".
President Eduardo dos Santos said so at the opening of official talks between delegations of Angola and Brazil, in the light of the two-day official visit of Brazilian head of State, Luis Inacio Lula da Silva, who is in Luanda since Wednesday evening.
According to President Jose Eduardo dos Santos, the implementation of such projects, which transform vegetable sources into fuel, have to go along with other programmes which aim at increasing agricultural and industrial production and ensuring food security for everyone.
"We are thus open to debate, to study the best way for the implementation of production of non-polluting energy which has proved efficient in the reduction of greenhouse effect threats to our planet", Eduardo dos Santos explained.
These talks will lead to the signing of accords in various domains between Angola and Brazil.
