Dr. Jisalo, who said the greening of the capital city is our collective responsibility noted that Nigeria and the rest of the world places importance to afforestation because it has far reaching impact on us and our environment.

Speaking further, the AMAC boss maintained that the importance of creating wood and other vegetations in our sorroundings make living more interesting.

"It also beautifies and protects our natural inhabitants," he posited, adding that, in view of the importance attached to this, we procured some trees for planting in the council's Karsana Farm and orchard. We shall also distribute some seedlings to farmers for planting in their villages at no cost".

Earlier in his welcome address, the supervisory councilor for agriculture, Hon. (Deacon) Felix Akintujuoye said in view of the re-occuring depletion of of vegetation all over the country, the tree planting exercise of this nature has become a norm and is celebrated yearly at all levels of government as a demonstration of the need for the public to follow suit.
