Nigeria: Kwara Demotes Teacher For Poor Performance

Ilorin — Kwara State Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Alhaji Bolaji Abdullahi has ordered the demotion of a teacher in the Government Day Secondary School, Oloru to a primary school, for poorperformance.

Sixteen others at Government Day Secondary School, Shao are being queried for notbeing at their duty posts when the Commissioner visited. The Commissioner had arrived the school at 7.30 a.m last Friday, unannounced and without any entourage, only for the affected teachers to stroll into the school after 8.00 a.m. A total of 63 students werealso sent back home for the same offence.
