President Yahya Jammeh's decision to offer scholarships to 15 contestants of the just concluded Miss Africa Beauty Queen, is indeed in line with his commitment to put education at the centre stage of nation-building. He has already paved the way, by initiating the PEGEP Scholarship; Scholarship for Science and Medical Students, etc.
Also, the scholarships granted to Gambian students in Taiwan and Cuba , also demonstrates a continuity in his policy to develop the education sector as a priority in building a modern and prosperous society.
