Eritrea: NUEW Extends Assistance of Educational Materials to Needy Female Students in Anseba Region

Keren — The National Union of Eritrean Women (NUEW) branch in the Anseba region has extended assistance of educational materials to more than 400 needy and orphan female students in the region. The assistance includes the payment of tuition fees for the year, uniforms and other educational materials.

The Union also conducted awareness raising campaigns focusing on the promotion of women's participation in education, as well as the negative impact of pregnancy and child bearing while schooling.

The head of the Ministry of Education branch office in the region, Mr. Bokretsion Habtemichael, expressed appreciation for the initiative taken by NUEW in supporting needy female students and urged for continued similar assistance.
