Ndola — POLICE inspector-general, Ephraim Mateyo, has made changes among senior officers with deputy commanding officer at Lilayi Training College, Brenda Muntemba Sichilembe, being promoted to the position of commanding officer in charge of Central Province.
Lusaka Province deputy commanding officer, Kedric Zombe, is new Luapula Province commanding officer, while his Northern Province counterpart, Lemmy Kajoba, is now commanding officer for Southern Province.
The position of commanding officer Luapula Province fell vacant following the transfer of Greenwell Ng'uni to Lusaka Province to succeed Wasakaza Ng'uni who died in a road traffic accident in June this year.
Reliable sources told the Times yesterday that former Southern Province commanding officer, Chewe Bowa, has been transferred to Lusaka as deputy commanding officer, taking over from Mr Zombe.
Grace Chipalila, who was commanding officer Central, has been transferred to Lusaka as deputy director in charge of training at police headquarters and would work under Solomon Jere who currently heads the unit.
Mr Mateyo has also promoted a Mweene, who was special assistant to the inspector-general of Police to the position of deputy training commanding officer at Lilayi Training College to replace Mrs Sichilembe.
The changes have also seen deputy police spokesperson, Crispin Kapela, being promoted to the position of special assistant to the office of inspector-general of police.
The changes are with immediate effect.
Police spokesperson, Bonny Kapeso, when contacted yesterday said he would consult with the inspector-general of police before confirming the changes.
