Lagos — Since schools reopened for new academic calendar, parents, guardians and schools have continued to take advantage of Diamond Bank Plc's online banking services to pay fees and also send money to their wards.

Speaking to journalists in Lagos, the Head, Corporate Communications, Diamond Bank Plc, Ms Nkiru Onono stated that parents and schools had never had it this easy in terms of the payment and receipt of school fees.

A statement from the bank quoted her as saying "It is amazing how parents and schools warmed up to our e-channel products to attend to their wards, children's school fees and receiving payments by schools.

This development is very fulfilling and like we have said in different fora that since we began operation.

"Diamond Bank's major preoccupation is how to provide financial service solutions that meet the banking needs of our customers and this is demonstrated by our numerous innovative products. We want to use this opportunity to assure our customers that we will not renege on our cardinal objectives as a financial institution with the welfare of our customers paramount to us," she stated.

Onono further stated that these channels of payments are free and explained that products like Diamond Online (Internet Banking) service enables parents to log -in and effect the online payments directly into the schools accounts and aiding the payment of school fees by parents from the comfort of their homes and offices.

"The school authorities on the other hand", she stated, "receive immediate notifications for each payment and update their school records, as it also allows the school to handle the day-to-day financial intricacies conveniently and with ease."

According to her , school fees payments are facilitated using Debitcards/Cashcards issued by banks on the Interswitch network, by seamlessly plugging into existing school websites and allowing the bank to credit all transfers to the school's bank account

"The advantage is that it can be used by parents/guardians who are customers and non-customers of the Bank while Diamond Mobile enables parents to carry out various banking and payment transactions on their mobile phone giving them the ability to pay fees anytime, anywhere with a notification of payment details to the school.

It is also worthy to note , the ease and convenience of mobile banking in terms of checking account balances, accessing details of uncleared deposits, account transaction history, bill payments such as MTN Post paid bills, funds transfers and Requests", she stated.
