Kampala — Kampala City Council has instructed fuel stations and supermarkets in the city to install security cameras ahead of Chogm in November. Kampala Mayor, Al-Hajji Nasser Sebaggala said the move would boost security ahead of the long awaited summit.
"A firm will only need one person to monitor the entire station or supermarket instead of employing 10 security guards," he said on Monday while touring City Oil Fuel Station on Bombo Road.
This comes days after the police listed shops and supermarkets, commuter taxis, special hires, boda-bodas, fuel stations and roundabouts among 'trouble spots', which might be used by terrorists during chogm. KCC Security Officer Abdul Karim Lukoda said they would soon carry out inspections to ensure compliance.
