Asmara — Representatives of the Eritrean Communities in Australia and New Zealand held a workshop from October 26 to 28 aimed at strengthening their respective communities.
Representatives of each community presented a report at the workshop on the activities of their community, in which the participants conducted discussions.
The Eritrean Ambassador to Australia and New Zealand, Dr. Andeab Gebremeskel, gave briefings to participants on current regional and international issues. He pointed out that Eritrea's foreign policy, which is pursued in line with mutual respect, could be cited as being exemplary to others as regards to promoting peace at the regional and international level.
The head of Eritrean Community Affairs in Melbourne city, Mr. Beshir Idris Nur, also gave briefings on the significance of strengthening organizational capacity.
The participants of the workshop charted an action plan for 2008 and stressed the need for stepped-up endeavors to hold the next Festival in a colorful manner.
