Gove — A VERY old traditional leader in the northwestern Kavango Region believes climate change is real.

Chief Napenda Mbambangandu (109), the senior headman of Gove village, about 40 km from Rundu, says there are many signs of climate change.

"Many years ago in our area, it was green all over which is no more the case," said Mbambangandu.

Mbambangandu believes climate change is being caused by population growth putting pressure on natural resources.
