BUGEMA University on Sunday awarded degrees and certificates to over 400 students who have completed their academic courses in different discipline and specialisations.

Bugema University was originally an institution for training seventh Day Adventist pastors in theology through out East Africa. But it has since changed to offer academic programmes in development studies, counseling and education among others.

In his address the acting Chancellor, Mr Christian Aliddeki said the University will soon begin offering an independent masters programme without an affiliation with any university.

"In the near future the University will have is own masters programme," Mr Aliddeki said. He revealed that the University is in process of constructing health centre facilities that will not only serve Bugema university but the community as well.

He said that the University has launched a n HIV project on the campus with the help of USAID through the Inter-Religious Council of Uganda. "This programme is intended to sensitise the community about HIV," he said.
