Luanda — Outgoing Cape Verdean ambassador bids farewell to Angolan president, José Eduardo dos Santos
The outgoing Cape Verdean ambassador to Angola, Silvino da Luz, Thursday in Luanda presented his farewell greetings to the Angolan head of State, José Eduardo dos Santos, after a six-year mission in the country.
Addressing reporters at the end of the meeting, the diplomat said he was briefed by president José Eduardo dos Santos on the deepening of friendship, comradeship and solidarity towards Cape Verde and its people, as well as on the Angolan Government's readiness to strengthen more and more the ties with Cape Verde in various domains.
Silvino da Luz considered as important the functioning, in Cape Verde, of an institution belonging to the African Investment Bank (BAI), the participation in the National Oil Company of Angola (Sonangol), and launch of direct flights linking the cities of Luanda and Praia.
Silvino da Luz said he is leaving Angola happy and optimistic about a better future, due to the high economic growth visible in this Southern African country.
"Angola is a country with a great leader, José Eduardo dos Santos, who managed, among other deeds, to consolidate the national unity", added the Cape Verdean diplomat.
