Asmara — In continuation of efforts to upgrade the capacity of staff members, the Ministry of Information graduated 25 members yesterday who were following a 2-month course in basic journalism and video camera.
Out of the total number of the graduates, 13 who received training in video camera are staff members of the Ministry, while the remaining 12 who followed training in basic journalism are from Operations Zone 2 and 3 , as well as the governmental garage.
Speaking at the graduation ceremony at Hager Media Hall, the head of human resources development in the Ministry of Information, Mr. Girmai Woldegergish, called on the graduates to make good use of and develop their newly acquired knowledge.
A representative of the graduates on his part stressed the significance of such courses in upgrading their skills. The course was given by experienced and skilled staff members of the Ministry.
The representative from the office of Operation Zone 3, Lt. Colonel Mekonen Raessu, handed certificates to the graduates.
It is to be recalled that the Ministry had offered similar courses to 40 members who joined the Ministry from the Mai-Nefhi College of Science and Technology. In addition, it recently graduated 30 staff members who received certificates from the University of Asmara upon the completion of a 2-year course in journalism.
