Angola: Govt Authorises Concession Rights for Diamond Prospecting in Lacage

Luacheze — The Angolan government recently authorised the concession of rights of diamond prospecting of the Lacage kimberlite, Luacheze district, eastern Moxico province, to the National Diamond Company of Angola (ENDIAMA E.P), in an area of 3,000 square kilometres.

The decision is contained in the State Gazette number 122, 1st Series, made available to ANGOP this Saturday.

In the same document the government authorised and approved the setting up of the Association in Participation in Lacage, between ENDIAMA, International Gold Exploration (IGE), the "Sociedade Mineira do Leste" (Somileste) and Magma - Commerce, Industry and Supply of Services.

Participation quotas of the referred contract are 51 percent for ENDIAMA, 43 for IGE, four for Somileste and two for Magma.

This project is part of the government's measure of promoting and encouraging the participation of foreign investors in the development of the mining industry, above all at primary deposits, bringing modern technologies for the diamondiferous sub-sector.
