The National Insurance Corporation of Eritrea (NICE) paid 26 million Nakfa insurance for damages caused by over 1,000 car accidents over the past 9 months, according to Mr. Zereu Woldemichael, manager of the Corporation.

Noting that Eritrea is one of the top 10 countries that sustain high car accidents, Mr. Zereu explained that most of the accidents occur due to the faults of drivers. He further pointed out that NICE provides service in all fields of insurance, including life, car, workers, air planes, ships, property and animals. The manager indicated that at present 52% of the Corporation's task covers car insurance.

The National Insurance Corporation of Eritrea has 8 agents and 2 branch offices across the country.
